Some avocate the full electrication of home heating as a pathway to decarbonistation. But I don't think that is deliverable. Electrification will play a big roll, but the need make big changes within homes will hold his back along with workforce issues.
The switch to 100% hydrogen in heating will be a good backstop, where full electrication can not be deliver. A decision is expected on this in 2026 in GB. We should crack on an prepare to switch from Methane to Hydrogen in half of the Gas Network. With other half fed by Biomethane. Converting the gas grid to Hydrogen will need less disruption of the roads than digging them up fully to install district heating allthough in many areas District Heating will be a solution.
